On May 20, 2016, I submitted a request to the Federal Chancellery to receive the list of “Accredited media representatives in the Federal Palace”, which is intended for internal use only, on a recurring basis.
If necessary, the complete list with all coordinates should be published on the Internet in a timely manner.
If necessary, the complete list with all coordinates should be published on the Internet in a timely manner.
Naturally, the Federal Chancellery rejected my request, so I sought arbitration with the Public Information Officer.
The Public Information Officer Adrian Lobsiger conducted the hearing on March 2, 2017 in a highly professional and extremely constructive manner.
He denied that there was a public interest in me receiving the list on a recurring basis.
However, he was looking for a pragmatic solution that both parties could agree to.
He suggested that the journalists’ email addresses be published if they agreed.
That was actually my point.
The mobile numbers remain the same for job changes, the e-mail addresses change.
The result is now available: the Federal Chancellery wrote to me on May 31, 2017: “In accordance with the arbitration hearing of March 2, 2017, the FCh has obtained the consent of the accredited media professionals in the Federal Palace (journalists and photographers) for the publication of their professional email addresses. The list of media professionals, supplemented with their email addresses, was published on the internet (provided the accredited person had given their consent).” The vast majority of journalists agreed to the publication.
I would like to thank the Public Relations Officer, the Federal Chancellery and all journalists who are prepared to publish their e-mail addresses.
The few addresses that are not published are easy to find.
The publication serves all associations, agencies and companies that wish to send mailings to media professionals.
The updated list is published at: https://www.bk.admin.ch/org/bk/00346/00347/index.html?lang=de See PDF file in the right-hand column (accredited media professionals)
