Medical complementary medicine definitely included in basic insurance

The medical services of complementary medicine will definitely be reimbursed by basic insurance.
There are 13 years of persistent lobbying work behind the implementation notification.
It took the “Program for the Evaluation of Complementary Medicine” (PEK), an investigation by the Control Committee, a constitutional article, numerous parliamentary initiatives, endless media work and a health minister who wanted to respect the will of the people and implement it in accordance with the law.
On behalf of all the complementary medicine associations, I would like to thank former Health Minister Didier Burkhalter, who led the way, the members of the parliamentary group on complementary medicine (in particular Edith Graf-Litscher, Rolf Büttiker and Joachim Eder) and, of course, Alain Berset and the entire Federal Council.
And if we are completely honest: it also took Pascal Couchepin, who fought against us as Federal Councillor with great commitment.
That helped us gain sympathy and ultimately the clear referendum decision.
In fact, we should also thank him. Link to the federal government’s press releaseLink to the DAKOMED media release
